NiceWatch is a module in the NiceLabel Suite Edition software. NiceLabel Suite includes a complete toolset to enable the user to create and print labels with ease and in fully WYSIWYG style. NiceLabel Suite includes the following modules: NiceLabel Pro ------------- NiceLabel Pro is a full-featured labeling software designed for professional bar code and RFID label design and printing, including complete database support and integration capabilities. A wide range of options makes it a perfect and easy-to-use, wizard driven tool for any labeling requirement. NiceLabel products include support for all industry standard bar codes (including 2-D). Since users are often confronted with particular customer or industry (chemical, automotive, retail, etc.) compliance requests, NiceLabel Pro installs many industry standard label templates to get you printing quickly. NiceLabel Pro includes the industry's most complete Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) smart labeling interface. RFID tags for Electronic Product Code (EPC) compliance for Class 1, Class 0 and Class 0+ for 64 bit and 96 bit tags. Tags for high frequency RFID for patient identification and asset identification. RFID tags are programmed using the optimized command set found in RFID thermal label printers. A user-friendly database wizard is used for quick and easy performance of database connection and printing operations. In addition to the standard support for text files, OLEDB and ODBC driver for enterprise databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, AS/400, Informix, etc.). NiceLabel Pro supports over 900 thermal label printers through optimized Windows printer drivers. In addition, any office printer is supported by NiceLabel Pro. NiceWatch ------------- NiceWatch is an event-driven middleware application capable of monitoring and detecting data in many different formats to trigger the start of bar code and RFID label and tag production. The standard scenario involves writing XML or ASCII text files from Oracle applications or other applications to a shared network drive. The TCP/IP socket interface allows you to accept information via TCP/IP ports from other computers or devices on the network. Sending XML data from an Oracle application via TCP/IP is also a common method of invoking centralized or distributed label printing. NiceWatch runs as a background task (Windows Service) on a Windows 2000/XP/2003 PC or Server. Oracle WMS can interface to NiceWatch through an XML 'file drop' to a shared or local folder or through a TCP/IP socket connection. In NiceWatch, the user can configure rules to execute once the XML data is received from Oracle WMS. This XML data contains information on which label is to be printed, which printer on the network the label should be printed to, the variable data that needs to be merged into text, bar code and RFID fields on the label and the quantity to print. The XML data can be parsed using a configurable NiceWatch filter and the data from the XML file can be easily mapped into variable fields designed into the label template using NiceLabel Pro. Additional rules, or Actions, can be defined to tell NiceWatch how to react when a data stream is received. Actions for opening a label, setting printers, running Visual Basic scripts and more can be configured if the XML file does not contain label and printer information. Pocket NiceLabel ---------------- Pocket NiceLabel is a mobile runtime that enables printing of bar code and RFID labels from mobile Windows CE and Pocket PC devices. Mobile printing can be accomplished directly to a thermal printer or through the NiceWatch label printing server. ActiveX or .NET programmers interface enables integrators to embed label printing into existing mobile data collection applications. Pocket NiceLabel supports Pocket PC 2000/2002, Windows Mobile 2003 and CE.NET 4.0/4.1/4.2. |
