| Using state-of-the-art Auto Id techniques such as bar code scanning and RFID, data is collected at key points in the warehouse. The use of Auto Id has consistently been proven to give significant improvements over manual data entry in terms of speed and accuracy. Using RF enabled handheld or vehicle mounted data collection terminals, data is then sent to Oracle ERP in real time using the powerful middleware in Epic’s MMS product. Similarly, information from Oracle ERP can be sent in real time through MMS to the operator in the warehouse via the display on the data collection terminal.
