Cognos NoticeCast provides the ability to push information to users, allowing them to focus quickly on what needs immediate attention. NoticeCast delivers personalized, high-value information based on defined events. Any user, anywhere across the organization or value chain, can monitor key events using email notifications and alerts that push business-critical information to them. Cognos NoticeCast proactively delivers business intelligence to usersbased on criteria they defineas events happen. Userauthored criteria can include availability of specific reports; changes in key performance indicators; and events or transactions recorded in operational data, data warehouses, and data marts. NoticeCast delivers this time-critical information to decisionmakers through automatic email messages. The emails can be sent to desktops or wireless devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs) or digital cell phones. Users define what relevant material should accompany the notification or alert, and who else in the company should be automatically informed. It shortens the time to action for people making fact-based decisions. It focuses users on the decisions that have the greatest impact and time sensitivity. NoticeCast monitors three basic types of events: notification events, performance events, and operational events. It offers a scalable solution that can be quickly deployed by any enterprise customer. Messages can be sent to wired or wireless devices. Other recipients can be added to the delivery list, to share information with those who need it quickly. Email alerts disseminate high value, time critical information. They unite employees from across departments or geographies with event-focused information.
