As every Oracle E-Business Suite user knows, there are a variety of essential processes that require manual intervention to complete. As a group, these are classified as “non-standard” jobs and are typically identified by the dedicated Oracle Forms required to initiate processing. These non-standard jobs include such things as G/L Import and Post, Mass Allocations, Financial Statement Generation, Multiple Reporting Currencies, and others. In each case one or more users are required to work with these forms to select data to be processed, enter data values to guide processing, etc. The labor required to manage these processes takes time and creates far too many opportunities for errors to be introduced. AppWorx allows you to automate these non-standard job streams. Our technology works with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i, Concurrent Manager, and your application data to automate and accelerate these recurring, but manual, business processes. Our tight integration with the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i environment allows us to manage processes individually or in groups. Variable data from one or more processes can be used in subsequent processes. This capability of passing variable data allows AppWorx to maintain complex relationships between tasks and gives you the power to automate processes you never dreamed possible. AppWorx can even manage processes and reference data outside of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i in order to gather all of the data it needs to manage a process to conclusion. When corporations automate their critical business processes with AppWorx, they immediately realize benefits in reliability, accuracy, productivity, and end user satisfaction. Using AppWorx OAE allows you to leverage the powerful AppWorx management capabilities for the Oracle environment. This includes all of AppWorx capabilities to manage jobs and report sets proactively, whether based on business calendars or real time application and system events. AppWorx can extend Concurrent Manager’s workload management capabilities and allow your resources to be allocated much more equitably among competing requests. No longer will one user dominate application processing at the expense of everyone else. You can create policies that dictate how all jobs will run—by priority, by queue, or your own criteria. You can also capture all ad hoc user requests and direct all or some of them to be managed by AppWorx. With this feature you can use AppWorx to manage your workload, both planned and unplanned. This online capture feature is completely transparent to end-users. Users continue using the existing Oracle E-Business Suite 11i interface, but behind the scenes, AppWorx is able to gain control of the user-submitted jobs and then manage these jobs in accordance with the policies you create. User requested jobs can now be monitored and managed proactively. Metrics such as “how long has this job been running?” and “how many jobs does this user currently have running?” can all be used to efficiently distribute workload. AppWorx OAE provides comprehensive management of application and system output. Output can be easily routed to any output device on the network—local printer, network printer, fax, pager, etc. Output can also be archived based on policies that you create. Application and system output can be viewed online and even viewed by users other than the requester. All outputs are kept secure at all times through AppWorx role-based security controls, which allow policies to be created that govern who can view a specific report. AppWorx OAE does not interfere with the normal job submission process or with Concurrent Manager, so users are still free to use the standard Oracle interfaces for any ad hoc activity. |

Only AppWorx/OAE offers this feature, enabling faster implementation and allowing for easy updates or changes to the reporting schedule. Batch processing and interactive job control in one toolset AppWorx/OAE is the only solution that manages both complex batch processing and the interactive load placed upon the system by multiple end users. Even reports submitted automatically to Concurrent Manager through the closing of process-specific forms can be captured, prioritized and managed by AppWorx. Capture of intermediate status codes AppWorx/OAE provides real-time monitoring of both Concurrent Manager reports and non-Concurrent Manager jobs through its unique ability to capture intermediate status codes. This capability is necessary to provide a true current view of the system processing status. These codes are also available to drive conditional processing within AppWorx. Output Management AppWorx/OAE provides comprehensive management of output including routing of reports to any output device on the network, report viewing by multiple users, and on-line viewing of both logs and reports from one screen. All outputs are kept secure at all times through AppWorx sophisticated role-based security controls. |
